Match Review - Leicester vs Arsenal

Yesterday was the first time I watched Arsenal playing this season. The away game to Leicester City proved a bit tricky as Arsenal had their own list of injured players. The latest addition to the injured list is Oliver Giroud the striker who will be deeply missed. Theo Walcott is still on the road to recovery and he should be back in the first team action early next month.

Alexis Sanchez scored his first Premier league goal on the 20th minute mark! Santi Carzola provided a key pass into the box and found Sanogo unmarked. The Leicester defenders charged towards Sanogo and he was able to scramble a pass to an unmarked Sanchez to slot in the ball from close range. With that goal in, I had thoughts that Arsenal will be more solid as their confidence will build upon that goal.

Unfortunately the leadonly last 2 minutes before Leicester equalized. Jeffrey Schlupp raced down the left flank and crossed the ball for Jose Leonardo Ulloa to head home. The Arsenal defence was really napping thus allowing the Leicester guys to take full advantage of the situation. Laurent Koscielny had a bad knock earlier and had to be substituted on the 26 minutes mark.

Overall, Leicester City was defending deeply in their own half with attempts of counter attack when they had possession of the ball. Arsenal tried to penetrate but they ran out of ideas on how to score. The Arsenal's defence didn't look solid and Leicester City could have scored the winner through the game. It's a fair point for both teams at the end of 90 minutes.

Arsenal is now 7th in the league with 5 points. Chelsea and Swansea are the leaders with 9 points for now. Arsenal will face Manchester City at home on 13-Sep at 7.45pm. Let's hope Arsenal will be up to that challenge! Time for Wenger to check on his tactics and bounce back!
